NATCHEZ, Miss.–There’s less cocaine and pot off the streets in Mississippi today after a drug bust by Metro Narcotics agents that included Natchez Police and the Adams County Sheriff’s Dept. One of the two people arrested is a repeat offender, with nine arrests since 2004.

Leonard and Gwendolyn Harris were popped at their house after an undercover investigation and a search warrant, said Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield.

“This is a substantial amount of cocaine for this area,” said Mayfield, “This bust should put a dent in drug distribution in Adams County.”

This is what agents found: four ounces of powder and crack cocaine with a street value of $10,000, one oz. of marijuana with a street value of $1000, one ecstasy pill, a 40 caliber handgun, and approximately $1000 in cash.

And it was a long list of charges for both Harris’s: two counts of acting in concert possession of schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm by a convicted felon;  acting in concert possession of schedule I controlled substance with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
