JACKSON, Miss.–If you’ve been on Twitter the past couple of days, you may have read what Sen. Cochran said about farm animals that some people believed was taken out of context. Here are some news briefs for a strange Friday 13:
COCHRAN EXPLAINS, KIND OF
It was bizarre staement by Sen. Thad Cochran in a speech he gave in Hattiesburg. You might’ve seen it on Twitter. He talked about spending time with relatives on a farm in the area while growing up. The Clarion-Ledger then quotes Cochran as saying he “did all kinds of indecent things with animals”. Cochran was asked to clarify Thursday.
“I was misunderstood. I don’t remember saying that,” he told reporters Thursday afternoon.
It’s the Republican runoff for Cocgran and opponent Chris McDanile June 24.
CAUGHT WITH 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL
Keeping Your Kids Safe: If you found out your 13-year-old daughter had been texting with a 35-year-old man, you’d probably call the cops. A girl’s parents in Gulfport did and now Eric Scott Doyle is under arrest. Police said he and the girl were together when they found ’em at a local apartment complex. She is back with her parents.

Illegal aliens in Mississippi. Eleven people arrested after their car was pulled over in Pearl on I-20. One of them was a 7-year-old with no relatives in the car.
