GUFLPORT, Miss. — Fishermen from all over the nation set sail in the Gulf of Mexico to reel in some monster fish at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic this past weekend.
Angler, Deb Hebert, caught an 843 pound blue marlin Friday, earning the grand prize of $195,000 for the vessel she was aboard, the Iona Louise. The catch was also he biggest marlin ever caught by a woman in the tournament’s history. The Iona Louise will now represent the Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic in next year’s Offshore World Championship.
