JACKSON, Miss.- Inmates and staff are concerned about their safety at two Hinds County jails. A jail gang fight that occurred two days ago killing one inmate and injuring several others has the people at the jail living in fear.
Supervisors declared an emergency for the Hinds County Detention Center after the big gang fight.
Federal authorities will be investigating the Hinds County Detention Center in Raymond and the jail in Jackson to see whether prisoners there are protected from violence committed by other inmates and staff.
