JACKSON, Miss. — A 3-year-old boy is dead after being shot inside his own home just after mid-night Thursday.
Jackson police said the shooting happened during a fight over a dog. Officers said the fight was between some people who lived at the home and several other individuals. Armon Burton was rushed to the hospital after being hit, but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Police have recovered more than two dozen bullet casings from the scene. But so far, they are still investigating and no one has been arrested.
