NATCHEZ, Miss. — Upset parents, students and city leaders marched outside the Natchez-Adams School District’s administrative building Tuesday demanding the resignation of Superintendent Dr. Frederick Hill.
“Dr. Hill has really tore this school system up,” said protest organizer Amos James. “He uh, misappropriation of funds, no equality for facility. He is belittling his staff. He bully them.”
These are problems Jermaine Huston said have lingered on for the past two years. “So right now, it’s just we done got pushed too far. We uplifting ourselves and saying we not gonna take it anymore.”
Supporters said they will be back on the streets Friday calling for Hill’s resignation and are prepared to protest until he steps down.
Hill said in a statement that he shares his opponents’ passion about what goes on in the school district; but both sides disagree on what needs to be done and how it should be achieved. Adding that he makes the decisions that he feels are in the best interest of the students and will move the district forward.
