JACKSON, Miss.–You may get wet today, but by tomorrow you might be thinking it was all worth it with a cold front that is set to bring in unseasonably cool high temperatures for a couple of days.
East Mississippi has the highest risk for severe weather. News Mississippi Meteorologist Todd Adams said that the risk is mainly from the Pine Belt to the Tennessee line.
“That includes some isolated tornadoes,” he said. You could see flooding with several hours of rain.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Eric Carpenter said that after you see the possibilities of hail and damaging winds subside, you should be ready for the cold front, which will cool you down.
“We’ll see much cooler temperatures moving in later tonight,” he said. “We’re looking for highs only reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s as we go into Thursday.”
He said temps will be on the rise again and you could see 80s by the weekend.
