JACKSON, Miss.–You can expect to see all Mississippi and U.S. flags lowered to half staff Thursday in honor of police officers who have died in the line of duty. It’s Peace Officer’s Memorial Day.
Gov. Bryant signed an executive order Tuesday and all flags flown at government buildings are to be lowered.
“During this Police Week we recognize our law enforcement officers for keeping our communities safe and responding in times of crisis,” said Bryant’s order.
The governor is a former deputy sheriff.
