JACKSON, Miss. — If you live in one of the 12 Mississippi counties that were affected by last week’s storms, you can apply for the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) starting May 12. To apply you must not currently be a SNAP recipient, or have had damage to your home, property, or had a loss of income because of storms.
The counties where you are eligible to apply: Itawamba, Jones, Leake, Lee, Lowndes, Madison, Montgomery, Rankin, Simpson, Warren, Wayne and Winston counties.
The last date you can turn in applications is May 14. Application sites within the counties are be open from 9 a.m. till 6 p.m.
