81 cars were burglarized in the Baptist Memorial Hospital DeSoto’s parking lot and the surrounding areas on Tuesday morning.
According to a Facebook post from the Southaven Police Department, officers were informed shortly after midnight that 35 vehicles had been burglarized at the hospital and 46 vehicles had been broken into at nearby hotels.
Baptist DeSoto has since said that it is now working to increase security throughout the campus with “regular security patrols, gated lots, well-lit areas, and License Plate Reader cameras.”
