CLEVELAND, Miss. — The seventy-eighth meeting of the Delta Council is this Friday morning.
The Delta Council is a regional economic development agency representing 18 delta counties in North West Mississippi. It is like any chamber of commerce, an organization comprised of men and women throughout the region who work on policies that impact the delta’s infrastructure and growth.
“The delta council is pleased to have chairwoman Debbie Stabenow, US Senator from Michigan as our featured speaker,” said Frank Howell, spokesperson for the Delta Council.
Stabenow is chairwoman for the Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee. At the meeting members plan to discuss issues facing the delta such as work for training, higher education, transportation, and flood protection.
This year’s meeting will take place at the Bologna Performing Arts Center at Delta State University in Cleveland at 10:30 a.m.
