Seven Southern Miss football players have been awarded All-Sun Belt Conference honors.
Sophomore running back Frank Gore, Jr. led the way as the lone Golden Eagle to receive first-team honors. Gore, highlighted for his role as an all-purpose back, reached the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the first time in his USM career while simultaneously amassing 219 receiving yards and 172 passing yards with nine total touchdowns. He was also honored as a second-team running back.
Third-team honors were awarded to wide receiver Jason Brownlee (819 yards, seven touchdowns), linebacker Santrell Latham (81 tackles, 3.5 sacks), defensive backs Malik Shorts (92 tackles, three interceptions) and Jay Stanley (57 tackles, four interceptions), along with kicker Briggs Bourgeois (17 of 18 field goals, 31 of 32 extra points) and punter Mason Hunt (42.5-yard average).
Four other Golden Eagles — defensive back Natrone Brooks, linebackers Daylen Gill and Averie Habas, alongside defensive lineman Jalen Williams — were given honorable mention accolades.
