JACKSON, Miss.- A six-year-old child was brutally beaten by his mother’s boyfriend last week. The boy is recovering after spending two days at a hospital in Jackson.
The mother told WLBT-TV she left her children with her boyfriend to get them ready for school while she went to work.
The mother was notified of the injuries by her son’s school. She said her boyfriend whipped him with extension cords and punched him repetitively because the child peed on himself.
Master Smith, 26, was arrested and charged with child abuse. Smith was taken into custody April 16 and bonded out of jail that night.
The mother tells WLBT he is now threatening her and her son, who is in protective custody so Smith can’t find him.
