Bond has been set for the now-fired community college employee in Mississippi accused of exploitation of a child.
Megan Boles, who served as director of the Pearl River Community College Child Development Lab School, was arrested earlier this week and issued a $40,000 bond. PRCC issued a statement on Tuesday, clarifying the timeline of events up until Boles’ arrest.
“On April 18, 2024, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department notified Pearl River Community College that Ms. Boles was being investigated on charges related to the exploitation of children,” a portion of the statement reads. “Pearl River Community College immediately placed Ms. Boles on Administrative Leave pending the results of the Sheriff’s Department’s investigation. Pearl River Community College was notified on April 30, 2024, that Ms. Boles was arrested on those charges. Pearl River Community College immediately terminated her employment.”
Officials at the community college in Poplarville went on to condemn the alleged behavior of Boles and said no alleged wrongdoing has been found to have taken place on campus.
“The alleged actions of Ms. Boles are not reflective of the values and standards upheld by Pearl River Community College,” the release continued. “…Pearl River Community College had no knowledge or reason to know of any such alleged wrongdoing by Ms. Boles. The Pearl River Sheriff’s Department has indicated that, at the present time, there is no evidence that any alleged wrongdoing by Ms. Boles took place on the Pearl River Community College campus.”
Boles is charged with one count of exploitation of a child. It’s unclear at this time if she has bonded out.
