An investigation is underway after three people were shot and killed in a vehicle near the casinos in Tunica County.
On Friday at approximately 9:24 p.m., the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a passerby that a vehicle had run off the road and was possibly on fire on Casino Center Drive in Robinsonville.
Deputies arrived at the scene within a couple of minutes and noticed that the vehicle, with three deceased occupants, had struck a pole. Upon discovering the vehicle had been riddled with bullet holes, TCSO immediately initiated a homicide investigation.
“Like yourselves, these victims have families too. Our prayers are with you all. There are NO WINNERS,” the TCSO stated on Facebook.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol Crime Scene Unit, a state investigator from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, along with the MHP’s reconstruction team are also assisting with the investigation.
Assistance from federal officials with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has been requested as evidence and information is developed surrounding the use of firearms in this incident.
TCSO is now investigating the homicides of:
- Deshun Montarrio Isabell, 24, of Tunica
- Steven Dewayne Burts, 23, of Dundee
- Tednequa Tenice Moore, 25, of Robinsonville
All three victims, identified as two Black males and one Black female, have been transported to the Mississippi Crime Lab in Jackson for an autopsy.
Anyone with information about the homicides is strongly urged to notify the TCSO at (662)363-1411 or Tunica County Crime Stoppers at (662)910-0400.
