HERNANDO, Miss. – Falling short of trying to legalize pot in Mississippi.
Desoto County’s Kelly Jacobs had the uphill battle of trying to get the legalization of marijuana on the 2016 general election ballot.
In order to do that, she had to get 107,000 signatures. She only got 13,320 certified signatures. Jacobs says it was a good first step, but since Mississippi is such a conservative state, it was a long shot.
