JACKSON, Miss. – They put their lives on the line and now one of them is battling in the hospital.
Five firefighters were injured last night trying to put out a house fire in Jackson. Emergency responders got the call at around 5 p.m., that a fire had broken out on Prentess Street.
The men were up-stairs putting out the flames when suddenly the floor collapsed out from under them.
All five had to be taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Four of the men have been released. All five are expected to make full recoveries.
