JACKSON, Miss. -An invasive fish is showing up in Mississippi Waters.
Silver carp or flying carp have been spotted in the Pearl river reports the Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks.
These non native carp eat phytoplankton which is originally a food source for native baitfish and other fry species. When those are effected it can send a ripple effect down the aquatic food chain.
Another problem is that flying carp weight up to 70 pounds, which leaves them with very few predators.
