A traffic stop in Scott County led to the confiscation of roughly 24 pounds of cocaine.
According to a social media post from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Thursday when the law enforcement agency’s interdiction team pulled over a 2011 Acura traveling eastbound on Interstate 20.
Following an interview with the vehicle’s driver, identified as Bautista Misael, a search ensued with the large quantity of drugs found in a hidden compartment inside the car.
Police later discovered that the suspect was also wanted for sex crimes and a previous deportation violation.
Charges against the subject have not been released at this time.
