A surface trough of low pressure is developing over the northern Gulf of Mexico just offshore of the Florida Panhandle. According to the National Hurricane Center, gradual development of this system is possible if it remains offshore through the middle and latter part of the week.
Regardless of development, heavy rains are possible along portions of the coast from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle over the next several days.
South Mississippi could see anywhere from 3-6 inches of rain through the weekend.
