VICKSBURG, Miss.- The 57th annual Miss Mississippi Pageant will begin this week at the Vicksburg Convention Center. The winner of the competition will advance to the Miss America competition in September in New Jersey.
There are 41 girls competing for the title. The girls are between the ages of 17 and 24 years old and must have competed in local pageants throughout the year in order to compete in the Miss Mississippi pageant.
David Blackledge Pageant Executive Director said, “Once the girls have won the local pageant then they are qualified to compete in the Miss Mississippi pageant.”
The competition will take place July 9-12. Miss Mississippi will be crowned on July 12.
