JACKSON, Miss. – Click it, or ticket, authorities are gearing up their campaign to crack down on your seatbelt. This is just in time for Memorial Day where you will see more drivers on the road.
The Mississippi Office of Highway Safety had their Click It or Ticket conference at the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum Friday morning the Capital City.
“This seatbelt campaign is not about writing tickets. It never has been. It’s about saving lives,” said MS Department of Public Safety Commissioner Albert Santa Cruise.
Cruise said since 2005 there has been a steady decline each year for the number of people that die on Mississippi roads and highways since the campaign was launched.
