20 Week Abortion Bill Headed to Governor

JACKSON, Miss.  – A bill that would ban some late term abortions is now headed to Governor Phil Bryant.

Lawmakers gave final approve to the legislation Tuesday.  It would ban abortions at 20 weeks, the midpoint of a full-term pregnancy.  Bryant, who has said he wants to end abortions in Mississippi, is expected to sign the bill.  But it’s not expected to impact the state’s only abortion clinic, which is located in Jackson.  The owner said it does not do abortions after 16 weeks.
