SUMMIT, Miss – Two women are dead after a double murder last night in Summit. Tomecka Williams, 39, was found shot inside a house and Christie Wells, 30, was found shot, lying in the front yard. Wells died later at the hospital.
“I’m not sure if they were shot in the house or outside, but both were shot with a shotgun,” said Chief Kenny Cotton.
Corey Cowart has been charged in the double murder. He was arrested at a convenience store in Summit, shortly after the crime was committed.
“Not real clear on the motive, think it might be domestic. You know, girlfriend, boyfriend stuff.”
The Highway Patrol and Pike County Sheriff’s Office did their part in helping Summit Police. The case is still under investigation.
