The Mississippi Economic Council’s 16th Annual Hobnob Mississippi is going on today at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.
Hobnob will feature a special message from Governor Phil Bryant and guests will hear from Lt. Governor Tate Reeves. Other speakers include Speaker of the House Philip Gunn, Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann, Attorney General Jim Hood, Agriculture & Commerce Commissioner Cindy Hyde-Smith, State Treasurer Lynn Fitch, State Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney.
In celebration of Mississippi’s Bicentennial, Hobnob will feature a special Mississippi History & Politics Panel.
Providing the perspective on the panel will be former Mississippi Supreme Court Justice and Past MEC Chair Reuben Anderson, Director of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Katie Blount, and Political Commentators & Award-Winning Authors Andy Taggart and Jere Nash.
The panel will be moderated by Ronnie Agnew, Executive Director of Mississippi Public Broadcasting.
The day starts with registration at 8:30 a.m. Hobnob will kick off at 9:30 a.m.
Hobnob will have a lunch buffet featuring Mississippi-raised fried catfish, bar-b-que chicken, and all the fixings served at 12:30 p.m.
