A Saturday shooting in the capital city led to the capture of a pair of teen suspects.
Officers with the Jackson Police Department were dispatched to the 3600 block of South Frontage Road on Saturday after reports of gunfire. Officers identified a white SUV as the suspected vehicle after multiple cars were shot into, one of which was occupied, at a local gathering on Saturday.
JPD quickly located the SUV at a nearby gas station, where they found a 16-year-old and a 14-year-old in the car. Deputies also recovered a nine-millimeter handgun used to fire shots into the crowd.
Both juveniles were taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied vehicle, possession of a firearm by a minor, and malicious mischief.
No injuries were reported in the shooting.
